WHAT CAUSES DEHYDRATION?

WHAT CAUSES DEHYDRATION?

Many and most things in our world cause dehydration to our skin. Among these are:

Caffeine, Salt, Soap/Harsh skin care, Over the Counter and Prescription drugs, Sun, Illness, Wind, Heat, Smoking, Chlorine, Alcohol Consumption, Powder Foundation, Altitude, Air Conditioning, Change of Climate, Breast Feeding, Pregnancy, Lack of Sleep, Preservatives, Tanning Beds, X-Rays, Sauna, Exercise (perspiration), Diet Pills, Bleach, Menopause, Pollen

HOW TO CHECK FOR DEHYDRATION?

Take the back of your finger and push up on the skin of the cheek and look for little lines. It will look like crepe paper. The more lines that are there the faster the skin is aging.

HOW DO YOU REHYDRATE YOUR SKIN?

Avoiding things that dehydrate your skin and proper skin care is the answer to keeping the skin hydrated, healthy and looking young. Every person will have different needs, due to different skin types.

Follow these simple steps to younger, fresher, cleaner looking skin:

1.) EVALUATE

Every person has different backgrounds and lifestyles and such has different skin. Here are the four factors you consider when evaluating a persons skin type:

Shine vs. No Shine vs. T-Zone Shine, Amount of flakiness, Thickness vs. Thinness of skin, and Pore Size

Factors such as wrinkles, dehydration, acne, loss of elastration, and color should not affect ones evaluation of sky type.

The following chart will demonstrate Skin Type Evaluation:

DRY - No shine, Small pores to none, Thin Skin, and Flakey in face/cheek area. NORMAL - T-Zone shine, Average size pores, Avarage thickness, and no Flakeyness. OILY - All over shine, Large pores, Thick Skin, and Flakey around nostrils, eyebrows and hairline.

*Pore size tends to get bigger with age. An elderly person with big pores may not necessarily be oily.

2.) CLEANSING

Choose your appropriate SERAPH cream cleanser. SERAPH only produces cream cleansers in order to protect your skin from harsh detergents that leave damaging residue on your face. If it foams it contains chemicals!!

Massage your SERAPH cleanser in small upward circles on your face to ensure the cleanser penetrates deep into the skin.

Remove cleanser from the face with cotton pads in a downward motion. Cleanser can also be rinsed off with water.

Your face should be cleansed in the morning and in the evening before bed.

3.) TONING

Choose your appropriate SERAPH toner. Saturate a cotton pad and remove any excess cleanser on the face.

4.) MOISTURIZING

You may have heard of DAY cream and NIGHT cream and thought 'why do I need two different moisturizers?' Well the difference between the two is crucial to achieving hydrated skin

DAY Moisturizer - During the day, your skin is exposed to many different factors (as listed above) which cause your skin to loose water. This loss of water causes dehydration. Day moisturizer acts as a barrier to help reduce the loss of the skin's water.

Choose your appropriate SERAPH moisturizer and apply after cleansing in the morning.

Same applies to the SERAPH Day Eye Cream.

NIGHT Cream - Night cream is a heavier cream that is applied before bedtime. The purpose of this cream is to replenish any water that may have been lost during the day. SERAPH's Night Cream does just this.

****IMPORTANT TIP!!****

If you have oily skin you may be saying to yourself, 'I don't want to put this heavy cream on my oily skin' The main reason people have over active oil glands is to make up for loss of water! The face compensates lack of water with oil! So using a day moisturizer and a night cream will reduce your oiliness.

Again, the same applies to the SERAPH Night Eye Cream.

5.) When your face is feeling clean and refreshed, finish off by applying SERAPH Pina Colada Chapstick in order to keep those lips kissable all day and night!

DON'T FORGET TO APPLY SPF BEFORE SPENDING TIME IN THE SUN!!
